A Georgian Libertarian Solution

I am curious to know if others here are interested in Georgism. One may create property through the mixture of his labor with a thing in its unclaimed state (First point, section 3 of the Liberland Constitution). However, land is always in it’s unclaimed state. Although one has the right to exclusive control of one’s property, that does not mean the unclaimed land can be considered to be truly private.

Land value comes from those who create value in the area surrounding the land. When people group in cities, they create value for the land around. I propose an involuntary land contribution by those who claim exclusive control of land in Liberland which is paid in equal parts to each and every citizen of Liberland, even those who contributed.

This land value contribution would be calculated from a fair market rental value of the land (NOT the improvements made on the land, only the land itself), which can be determined by a few different mechanisms up for discussion.

This would effectively improve conditions for those without land or in a less desirable financial situation, would not affect those with land in more rural areas, and would distribute profits derived from the actions/location of citizens from those who benefit. This income would not replace a normal income, only supplement.

Considering Liberland’s limited space, this may become especially effective as it grows into the country we all imagine it will be.
