APATIN, SERBIA | April 29, 2026 — As the Free Republic of Liberland wraps up its 11th Anniversary, the nation is proud to announce a high-octane addition to its growing infrastructure: the official opening of the Liberland Inline Skate Park at Ark Village on the Danube River. The ramp will be built to Olympic standards. The project is the result of a collaborative powerhouse between 3x World Champion Joe Atkinson and Liberland.
The new facility, located at the sustainable ecosystem of Ark Village, serves as a flagship recreational hub designed to promote fitness, freedom of movement and the live-and-let-live ethos of the Liberland community. Liberland holds several events here throughout the year, including its anniversary, Floating Man and Liberpulco.
A Fusion of Sports and Liberty
Joe Atkinson, widely regarded as one of the most successful competitors in inline skating history, joined forces with Liberland to design a space that challenges professional athletes while remaining accessible to the burgeoning community of Liberland settlers and visitors.
"Liberland represents a frontier for new ideas, and we wanted the skate park to reflect that same energy," said Atkinson. "Working with these guys to bring this to life at Ark Village is about more than just ramps; it’s building a culture of movement in a place that values individual autonomy."
Highlights of the Anniversary Launch
The park’s unveiling was a cornerstone of the Liberland 11th Anniversary Celebration (April 10–13, 2026). Key events included:
- The Inaugural Session: A live demonstration by Joe Atkinson, showcasing world-class technical maneuvers.
- Workshops: Professional coaching sessions for residents and anniversary attendees.
- Community Integration: The park is integrated into Ark Village’s eco-friendly landscape, located near the village’s lake and gardens.
Sustainable Development at Ark Village
The Inline Park aligns with Liberland’s commitment to building a "Blockchain Meritocracy" that also encourages physical community and wellness. Ark Village, which relies on a circular economy and green technology, now adds professional-grade sports infrastructure to its list of amenities, which already includes a handball court, watersports, coworking and fitness spaces, a longevity clinic and solar-powered housing.
