Strategic Growth Plan

I read that Liberland is investing 30 million euros and that is great news Liberland needs to establish a 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15 and 20 year plans to show the world what Liberland wants to do to make the world a better place.

I certainly second the statement above. Now, I haven’t read every page at the liberland.org site or this forum, so I might have missed a “Roadmap to populating Liberland” if there is such a document.

I guess there are some critical and initial issues to deal with, like 1) the government getting along with the the two neighboring countries and 2) making plans to build an initial and working infrastructure so people can start moving over to LL, temporarily or permanently.

This will require quite some funding as I assume some terraforming will be needed? And I was a bit surprised that there appears to be some kind of seed funding mentioned above. Where did You find that information Martin?

Cheers

Or maybe spend the entire 30 million suing Croatia in every way possible and pursuing other options in Croatia to change the Croatian Govt stance towards LL. Without such a change, LL pretty much only exists in our minds.

I’m assuming (tho Europeans would know better than me) that the biggest fear of Croatians, beyond losing territory they view as theirs, is that LL will become another hub full of Islamists and Africans. Perhaps a concession on the part of LL towards this fear is the only path forward.

What kind of concessions would be appropriate in this situation?

I’m not sure. The folks that live in the EU and specifically the Balkans would understand the local sentiments better than I could. But it seems telling that Croatia allows pretty much unrestricted access to LL by EU residents but any other nationality gets banned from Croatia if they try to visit LL. And there were the rumors spread amongst the Croatian populace of LL being a den of drug-users, etc.

Sometimes in a negotiation, the other side won’t tell you what they actually want. You have to assume what they want and offer them it, and then they might accept. In the case of LL, maybe the Croatian authorities can’t say what they want from LL because to state it would open them to criticism of racism.

All countries have a list of other countries from which they will not allow visitors from. And if they can’t visit, they can’t become citizens. In the US, we ban travel from: Afghanistan, North Korea, Cuba, etc.

Maybe LL should approach Croatia and give control over this list for LL. It is a big concession, but most countries wouldn’t even exist if it wasn’t for concessions. I was just reading about the history of Monaco, and they had to give up around 75% of their land in return for recognition from France as an independent nation (iirc).

I think that approach may be plausible other countries do in fact cede certain rights or powers to other countries the Schengen area is an excellent example of this Liberland may have to concede to Croatia immigration control if that is what it takes to achieve recognition. I do think immigration is at least a significant component though.

Yeah if I were in touch with someone from the current LL govt, I would try to find out the history of all their interactions with Croatia. Maybe Croatia has refused any interaction with the LL govt. If LL can’t even have a conversation with them, then maybe the next step is starting a public campaign geared towards freedom minded Croatians about how they might benefit from the creation of LL. I know they do a bit towards this, like sponsoring a Croatian futbol team, but there are tons of possibilities there. Start a bunch of YouTube (or Croatian equivalent) channels in the Croatian language doing various things like: a gameshow channel where contestants win prizes, street interview channel, etc. Target things that are big in Croatian culture. There are many movements happening right now in english-speaking culture that are pretty effectively causing a change of opinion on different issues. LL can take many learning points from these successes.
