(Response to LL vs. Taiwan)

Martin I find this data shocking: that Taiwan is officially recognized by so few countries and yet they have a relatively strong passport with visa-free access to around 110 countries. So, dozens of countries give visa-free access to citizens of a country they don’t officially recognize?!! That is wild!

The implications that this has for LL are immense. Could LL have a strong passport with visa-free access across the world, but only be officially recognized by a few countries?

What were the factors that led to such a good outcome for Taiwan passport holders?

(The wiki page shows Taiwan has formal relations with 12 nations and informal relations with 59. Is there a better source of info about this?)

I know what you mean Murf it was a head scratcher for me too. The way I structured Liberland vs The World it is supposed to be more of a statistical head to head comparison more so than going into great detail so as to keep the word count lower. The Taiwanese have figured out that the right to travel via passport and diplomacy aren’t mutually exclusive. The problem for LL is that no countries recognize them so the bar is much higher, once the first country recognizes LL you could then see a domino effect in terms of passport recognition or visa access of some sort occur then.
