No Mandatory School + (piece-by-piece-Constitution)

(This is my ongoing series presenting pieces that I am formulating into my own constitution for any future country [including LL]. The wording is not set and is open to changes/additions/subtractions. Posting about it is just to stimulate debate, as should any good creator of a constitution.)

No Mandatory School Attendance

Parents get to decide what type of schooling/education their child receives. If there ever is a govt school set up, it cannot be mandatory for children to attend and/or receive education from there. (Bold = Legal)

There shall be no govt oversight/regulation on parents to have any contact with any member of the govt in regards to a child’s education. A parent will never have to submit any documentation to the govt or receive permission for anything in regards to their child’s schooling/education. The govt may publish an advised list of educational topics, but it will never be a mandatory list.

Entering prison as an inmate negates this right and any child or adult in prison will receive mandatory education deemed most likely to prevent re-offense.

Never again shall the youth be the unwitting brainwashed victims of the wealthy and powerful via mandatory education. (Italics = Explanatory)

Preventing A Child From Receiving Education Necessary For Independence Is A Crime

If a person (parent, guardian, or anyone else) is actively preventing a child from learning, in order to keep the child from obtaining the knowledge necessary for independence, then that person is guilty of keeping that child in a form of mental slavery. (Bold = Legal)

Assuming that the child is in good health and free from abuse, the punishment for this form of mental slavery will be much lower than all other forms of slavery.

One of the main end goals of parenthood is to produce a child that can build a life fully independent of the parents. (Italics = Explanatory)

I do not oppose your premise, however would you suggest some form of assessment to ensure that children do receive the necessary level of education, by whatever means, that is needed for independence?

Perhaps a criminal assessment can be thought out to be used by law enforcement to determine arrest-worthiness. But I imagine that the criminal charge will almost always come with other charges like false imprisonment, abuse, etc.

In my mind, the knowledge necessary for independence is: ability to read, basic math needed for money handling (addition, subtraction), and knowledge of how society functions (laws, punishments for breaking laws, jobs as a means to make money, drivers license criteria, etc).

I definitely oppose any sort of blanket assessment for all youth to be performed by state “educators” because it just empowers them to be authority figures, and history has proven them undeserving of such authority.

I think we are entering a period where there will be a dramatic sliding scale of those with an unprecedented level of knowledge (because they desire it, and it is facilitated) all the way down to those who only have a bare minimum of knowledge (because they do not desire it, and it is not facilitated).
