Liberland external mobile phone coverage

Hi all.

Could anybody please enlighten me about the current status of Mobile Phone and Internet connectivity in Liberland to the nearest base station in Croatia or Serbia?

Bests
Nils

From liberland we mostly(90% at least) have connectivity from Serbia, and sometimes deep in forest, from Croatia. Of course in first settlement, we had a Starlink internet connexion in liberland, but not available right now. Dependeing of your mobile phone compagny it can be good sometimes to have a serbian number. for me i have 35GO for both, but calling from serbia is a bit expensive. (free to local numbers).

Thank You for the reply and informative feedback Adrien.

I will definitely visit FF early this summer for a week or two. The liberland.org web pages do contain a lot of information about the venture, but to fully grasp the logistic and political issues methinks a visit and a chat with like minded in situ would be more efficient. Could that be arranged? In that case, where and when?

For me as an inquisitive technocrat it would be interesting to bring with me some smaller equipment in my backpack, like some RF-EMF scanners and antennas to get a better picture of the available base stations over there, and in order to use the lower RF bands efficiently. I still haven’t found adequate coverage info on the web. There are sites with that kind of information, but they don’t give You the whole picture.

Maybe someone reading this can enlighten me with an URL concerning mobile phone coverage and base stations in Serbia and Croatia?

The best spot to go before Liberland, is Ark village in Apatin, Serbia, to have all the informations. As this forum have low activity (for now), you can also check the official signal group about the Settlement 2025 here Signal Group I am not currently arround Liberland so i cant meet you for summer. of course you can also send an email to info@liberland.org

Thanks. But no success. I’m running Linux Debian on a workstation, and Signal wants me to use a smart phone to continue. Is that mandatory?

yes you need to have a smart phone first, but then, you can have signal on your computer.

:-)) Sorry Adrien, I forgot to mention that I do own a few smart phones as an App developer. But I use the Sailfish OS produced by Jolla Ltd because I won’t touch any OS or app (~spyware) produced by Big Tech. There’s a lot of chatter on the net about the issue above, but Jolla (or any other developer) has yet to produce such a Signal App.

However, thank You so much for all valuable replies above! I will certainly arrive at LL or ARK one or the other way, eventually.
