Legislative Priorities

Hello everyone I am not sure as to what is or isnt current law here in Liberland with questions not necessarily being answered with that being said w what are the priorities for legislation or other referenda actions that the Congress needs to look at or the citizenry sees as needing to be done and this also should include those that arent citizens bit have a vested interest in the future of Liberland!

I propose a conflict of interest law all people that are in the government need to disclose all of their holdings of llm and lld among other actions for full transparency. We also need to take actions against insider trading in whatever form the people deem appropriate these actions among others will ensure Liberland is taken seriously and not as some group of crypto speculators.

Martin, that sounds perfectly reasonable. If we ignore any of the big lessons of the past 100-200 years or so of modern governance, LL will just repeat the mistakes.

@Murf what ideas do you have?

Well, as far as legislative priorities, I think it is incredibly important that they move slowly. There’s no need to rush out a copy of the constitution, as there’s no major habitation of the land. I’m assuming a major crime on LL territory will probably be prosecuted by Croatia, but if not, LL Congress could do a temporary constitution that will eventually be entirely replaced by the real constitution.

It’s important to go really slowly (years), because there should be major public discourse before anything is set in stone. I’ve been involved in online forums in the nutrition and health space for 15 years, and there are definitely answers found via forum posts and if not final answers to questions, the group will get closer to an answer. Mass movement of minds is happening via online discourse.

Most of the ideas I’ve heard from others about LL are really good, but some are terrible and would never work out. We should be able to unearth the ideas that will never work via discussion before the bad idea is put in place and affects real people.

Martin, do you know of any other place where online discourse might be happening in regards to Liberland? I assumed it would be mostly on this forum, as it’s the official one. With all the interest LL has had, I thought there would be tons of people wanting to dissect all the ideas that go into making a country. I would have been here before but I didn’t know this forum existed; it’s not readily accessible from the main LL site.

 There are other places but nothing of substance though to be honest Murf. Mostly people are interested in the crypto side from my observations and to be completely truthful it seems that there is not a any serious interest just a passing dream for most people. While I do agree we need to digest ideas for years we need them on the table to be even discussed in the first place that is something that is sorely lacking for Liberland no one takes them seriously except maybe some crypto groups in the world. We need to find ways to appear more legitimate in the world!

Ah, well no biggie. Just more opportunity for us to start the avenues of discussion! Didn’t they just do elections? I wonder what the representatives are up to…

The cool thing is that just in case LL doesn’t make it, whatever we come up with in regards to govt framework could be taken and applied to any liberty based city/state. I just heard about an interesting one out of Australia that is in negotiations with the South Pacific country of Tuvalu to rent an area in between a ring-like island group and make a sea-steading community. And there’s at least 4-5 other different ones I’ve heard of.

Anyways, Liberland definitely should highlight this forum on their homepage to gain more interest.

Liberland has elections every 3 months the next one is on July 3rd. But I dont know exactly what it is that they do though in fact thinking about it now I never see any notices of when they have their meetings there needs to be more transparency and communication.

But yes there are other projects out there that can take on the ideals of Liberland. I think the best approach has to be finding land somewhere that has minimal regulations and starting from scratch essentially no matter what.
