The conviction in London of Qian Zhimin—dubbed in some headlines the “Liberland queen”—has attracted attention to our young republic because of her alleged desire to become Liberland’s “Queen.” Let me be unequivocal: Liberland has never had any contact with Ms. Qian and the idea that she could become a monarch here is pure fiction.
Liberland is a constitutional republic founded on merit, the democratic veto, and a simple pledge every citizen must make: “I shall not steal from my fellow citizens—neither directly nor through the state.” Citizenship is granted only to those with a clean criminal record, and we verify this very carefully. All cryptocurrency contributions are automatically screened for illicit origins and any transaction that raises concerns is blocked before it reaches us.
These are not symbolic promises. We are actively revoking citizenship from individuals who concealed criminal histories, and our new citizenship law allows removal for up to twelve years if key facts were withheld. We take integrity seriously because it is the foundation of our project.
Liberland’s vision: freedom built on transparency
Liberland was created to prove that a society can flourish without the coercive taxation and regulatory overreach that plague traditional states. As Frédéric Bastiat warned, “The state is the great fiction through which everyone endeavors to live at the expense of everyone else.” We reject that fiction.
In Liberland, influence is earned through merit—verifiable contributions to Republic—not wealth or popularity. Democracy alone has failed to prevent corruption or the tyranny of the majority over the minority. Our system combines merit-based voting power with the democratic public veto and Senate oversight to keep power in check. All of this operates on a transparent, automated, decentralized platform at blockchain.liberland.org.
We attract freedom-minded innovators from around the world, including our Prime Minister, Justin Sun. Yet wealth in itself offers no privileges here. Every contribution is checked, verified, and rewarded in a fair and open manner.
Liberland is not a haven for fugitives or opportunists. It is a serious experiment in voluntary governance for people who want to build prosperity without exploiting others. Criminals will find no shield here—only transparency and the rule of law.
We welcome scrutiny. We welcome debate. And to those who share our belief in liberty, responsibility, and honest cooperation, we extend an invitation: help us build the freest society on Earth.
