Age of Majority?

All societies throughout time have some definition for age of majority albeit some were quite arbitrary in this way but has Liberland decided at what age does one become eligible to vote, enter into contracts, etc that would make them a legal adult?

As of now, there are a few countries where individuals under 18 can vote in national elections. These include:

  1. Austria: The voting age is 16 for national elections.
  2. Brazil: Citizens can vote at 16, although voting is mandatory from 18.
  3. Cuba: The voting age is 16.
  4. Germany: In some states, 16-year-olds can vote in local and state elections, and there are discussions about lowering the voting age for national elections.
  5. Malta: The voting age is 16.
  6. Scotland: 16- and 17-year-olds can vote in local and national elections.
  7. Wales: Similar to Scotland, 16- and 17-year-olds can vote in local and national elections.

These countries have recognized the right of younger citizens to participate in the democratic process, reflecting a trend towards lowering the voting age in various regions.

Personally, I would like to see 16 be set as the minimum age, but I’d be open to even younger in special circumstances.

I agree 16 should be the age of majority for Liberland we need to set the groundwork as I am not sure the Liberland Congress has done any of this framework yet we need to get them to lay the foundation on this issue because otherwise there will ambiguity based on where a person is a citizen I think but that is just my opinion.

16 to vote is absurd. The only reason 16 year old people are given the right to vote is because they can easily be manipulated. 18 is still too young. I would say 21 and direct democracy on blockchain with no representation is the only way to fix current problems of the current system shared globally. If we want to fix the disaster that the world is today, we gotta pretty much scrap everything and re-think it.

H, I completely agree with the scrap everything and re-think it approach.

As far as ages, I don’t see any age group that isn’t easily manipulated at the moment. I know plenty of baby-boomers that have been easily manipulated for the last 5-9 years.

Govt psyops have been going on for centuries to manipulate the populace of a certain area to meet their needs. The key is to be informed and educated on how to spot such propaganda, avoid it, overcome it and keep that society from succumbing to it. People may do one or even a few of these points but the key is to keep society from succumbing to it. The best example in the modern era to me is Nazi Germany the German people had multiple opportunities to rid themselves of Hitler dating all the way back to 1923 in the Beer Hall Putsch but they did nothing until the Allied Powers came into Berlin in 1945 that’s 22 years later. To me it shows lack of care, no motivation to do what’s right if it inconveniences you by just a tiny bit.
